The outdoor gym is a public training park featuring solid, simple and versatile equipment. Some (like the monkey bars and parallel bars) might bring back fond childhood memories, while others (including hurdles, pull-up bars, and steps) will be familiar to regular gym-goers. All equipment is designed to meet a range of training needs, from amateur athletes to those just beginning a fitness program.

The gym is ideal for groups like running and walking clubs, but is fully equipped with everything you need to work out solo – including on-site move guides and QR codes to easily access explanatory videos on your smartphone.

Helpful hints:

  • Recommended for use in daylight hours
  • Bring outdoor gym shoes
  • Dress in layers
  • If you’re shy about working out in public, check the online calendar to see if the gym is being used by a class or group. (If you’re not shy, then don’t worry – there’s plenty of room for everyone.)
  • Feel free to bring additional equipment like kettlebells or a skipping rope to vary your workout

The gym also hosts outdoor fitness classes in spring and fall to get you moving and familiarize you with the equipment.
