Six research projects lead by researchers in the Faculty of Dentistry and its affiliated research institutes have been awarded grants totalling nearly $5 million from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). The variety of projects receiving funding — demonstrate the broad range of intersecting research interests in the Faculty of Dentistry — from studies of bone remodelling to leading pain research — in addition to its emphasis on interdisciplinary collaborations.
The Project Grants awarded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research are designed to capture ideas with the greatest potential to advance the health sciences, privileging projects that offer innovative and actionable research solutions. The Faculty of Dentistry’s research projects awarded by the CIHR are among 371 projects across Canada that will receive a total of $275 million in funding.
