Beyond Me pairs McGill student volunteers with children and teenagers with special needs, allowing them to work one-on-one to develop a rewarding relationship. Beyond Me’s  network of volunteers have a diverse set of skills, experience and interests, allowing the organization to match student volunteers with young people who would most benefit from their unique qualities.

Student volunteers spend a full year with their mentee and work closely with his or her family to provide the best level of support. This can be through tutoring, homework help, structured play, language development and other activities. Mentors also aid in the socialization of their mentee by organizing child- and teen-friendly group events (like Biodome Adventures and Carnival Days).
