Regular visits to a dentist from an early age help set children up for a lifetime of good health. The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences’ Summer Dental Clinic allows families facing financial constraints and those living with a disability to access this essential health service.

Every summer holiday period, McGill dentistry students in their final year of study provide free dental treatment to disadvantaged children aged 10 to 17, and to patients with a physical or intellectual disability aged 10 and over.

Treatments are performed under the supervision of general practice dentists, and include:

  • routine dental examinations
  • professional cleaning
  • minor fillings and extractions

This service is supported by a grant from the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services.
